change of plans

I went to Lowes after work today and bought a gallon of Ocean Soul paint. Last week I bought a sample and painted a small section and I loved it.  Andrew wasn't quite sold--it's a pretty bold color--sort of a cobalt blue. I planned on getting the first coat on tonight but about 5 minutes after getting home with the paint, I decided I didn't like Ocean Soul anymore.  I didn't even get the can of paint opened and I had changed my mind.
So, now I'm going to spend my lunch tomorrow looking at paint colors..I'm thinking green.  I think Andrew will be pleased.
Since I didn't paint tonight, I spent a little bit of time putting things back in the cabinets. All of our food-and dishes-have been in boxes in our dining room.  It makes cooking very difficult. But things are starting to get put back in place.
I also spent most of my night cooking roasted chicken with carrots and potatoes and baking zucchini bread. It's only the second meal to be cooked in our house since we started working on the kitchen. I'm ready for it to be finished so I can start to enjoy cooking a little more.

  1. Hey. I don't know if you've settled on Chives, but when we were trying to buy that house, the first thing we were going to do was redo the kitchen, so I was looking into what would look good with white cabinets. I found a picture of a kitchen painted in Sherwin Williams Gleeful that looked really good. I had bookmarked the page but our computer's motherboard melted two weeks after the warranty ended so we just replaced our computer. Otherwise I would send you a picture. I found a color sample and it looks a lot more subdued than it did on the wall. I just found the color on Sherwin Williams' site, and it looks really pale, but everyone that had commented on the original picture I saw described it as green apple or appletini. It looked really good with the cabinets and tannish stone or stone-looking porcelain/ceramic tile floor, which is what we were planning. Just thought I'd throw in my thoughts. Your kitchen looks great so far. Good job.

  2. The color you described sounds more like what I envisioned. Would it look good with black countertops? I have already bought a gallon of chives but that doesn't mean I'm sold on it. I have a gallon of ocean soul blue too. Maybe once my kitchen's finished I can start a paint shop out of my basement. :)
and thanks for the suggestion. I actually saw a Sherwin Williams ad today. Paint is 30% off right now.
